Nothing special happening

I get excited by astronomical events, like the transit of Venus yesterday, although I wasn’t in a place where I could see it, wrong country, wrong time. Oh well there are another pair of transits in 2117 and 2125, maybe I’ll see them….LOL! Not much chance of that is there? Looking at the Universe around us makes me realise how short a period of time we have at our disposal in our brief existence. All the more reason to fill that time well I would have thought but it is quite surprising how much time we actually waste in our lives. Take this past weekend for instance, I did nothing special other than relax at home doing pretty much nothing of importance or noteworthy. That might seem as though I am letting my life slip by but most of the time I am up to something of one sort or another, mostly work in one form or another, exercising, walks and such or playing guitar, writing poems and songs, writing blogs, emails, reading, watching television, going to the pub, going shopping, preparing meals and a host of other things too. Somewhere amongst all of that I find time to sleep too! I suppose looking at it that way my time is pretty much filled each day and yet I still get bored and have times where I simply do very little, as with this past weekend. There has to be a time to do nothing, a time given just for ourselves, a time when nothing is that important it snatches our moments of peace and solitude.
Ecclesiastes 3
New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)

A Time for Everything

3 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

So nothing special to report except that life goes on as usual. I have found though that there always seems to be a time for work in my life…LOL
